Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Responsible for food safety by following HACCP and Food Safety policies/procedures. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them, and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor. Attend training as required or approved by supervisor. Palletize product, help make up boxcars, throw the product in boxcars from the loader, Inspections of railcars and trailers (includes filling out inspection report) for loading; sealing of all carriers; material handling with a forklift, work safely, and keep the area clean and sanitary. Other duties may be assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk up to 100 yards, sit up to 4 hours at a time, climb a ladder up to 20 feet, climb stairs up to the 2nd floor, balance, twist, stoop and grasp; reach above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level with both arms; communicate and hear. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 110 pounds of bagged rice, must be able to guide bags from loader into rows in a boxcar. (1,250 - 110# bags, 1,500 - 100# bags, 3,000 - 50# bags per boxcar. May do up to 3 boxcars per day.) Must be able to transfer bags of rice from waist-high conveyor and place them on a pallet from floor level to chest level. (100 - 20# bags, 42 - 50# bags, 25-45K bags, 25 - 100# bags per pallet. May load 8 - 10 trucks per day with 22 pallets per truck.) May be required to off-load full boxcars or trucks. Ability to condition box cars and hoppers. Assist in switching, fill out appropriate paperwork before and after. Seal rail cars and insure proper seals are in place.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close and distant vision and depth perception as outlined in the requirements for industrial truck drives.
Education Requirements
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
