Administrative Assistant - 0.5 FTE (50%) - Houdini Elementary at Appleton Area School District

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for attendance tracking and student enrollment processes.

• Maintain and update accurate student records and databases in compliance with school policies.

• Assist students, families, and staff with general inquiries and provide support as needed.

• Provide care and assistance to students who are ill or injured in the health room, following established school health protocols.

• Administer basic first aid and contact parents/guardians as needed for student health concerns.

• Support health room documentation and help manage student medical information as required.

• Provide administrative assistance to the principal and dean of students, including scheduling, correspondence, and coordination of meetings.

• Manage the front office reception area by answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries appropriately.

• Coordinate communication between school staff, families, and external contacts to ensure smooth operations.

• Perform other administrative tasks to support the efficient functioning of the school office.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an administrative or school support role preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with office software and student information systems.

• Empathy and a positive attitude toward supporting students and families.

• Basic knowledge of health room procedures is a plus.
