What You'll be Doing:

Assists Speech & Language Pathologists for the purpose of planning for students individual therapy sessions.
Attends meetings and in-service (e.g. specific curricular materials, planning students sessions, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information related to the functions of the job.
Collaborates with Speech & Language Pathologists, teachers, and/or other personnel for the purpose of providing requested information and/or implementing therapy schedule.
Implements lesson plans for individual or small groups of students under the direction of the
Speech/Language Pathologist (e.g. expressive/receptive language, fluency, voice, articulation, etc.) for the purpose of providing appropriate designed instruction as per each students IEP.
Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. Medicaid billing forms, students daily progress, quarterly progress reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.

What We Offer:

Salary: $27.70 - $32.40 per hour (depending on experience)
Hourly wage is contingent upon obtaining SLPA certification. Paraprofessional hourly wages will apply until certification is obtained ($19.25 - $25.27).

Job Details:

Working days: 5 days per week / 180 days plus 10 holidays per year
Hours per day: 6.5 hours

What You'll Need:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Experience working with students in special education classroom setting preferred.
Minimum qualifications: Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must meet the minimum requirement for a paraprofessional (Hold an associates of arts degree, have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an institution of higher learning or have passed the state paraeducator assessment).

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
