Summary

The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to guests in a courteous, timely, and professional manner. This role requires knowledge of drink recipes, proper service etiquette, and compliance with Hyatt standards while maintaining a clean and organized bar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Hyatt standards and guest requests

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including glassware, utensils, and equipment

• Verify age requirements for customers ordering alcoholic beverages in accordance with state and local laws

• Accurately process guest orders, handle cash and credit card transactions, and balance assigned bank at the end of shift

• Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and enhancing their overall experience

• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and act responsibly to ensure guest safety and compliance with hotel policies

• Restock bar inventory and supplies as needed throughout shift

• Work collaboratively with servers, hosts, and culinary colleagues to deliver seamless service

• Previous bartending experience preferred; hospitality or hotel bar experience a plus

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage preparation techniques

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

• Excellent communication and guest service skills

• Must be at least 21 years of age (per local/state requirements)

• Food Handler and Alcohol Server certifications (where required)
