OBJECTIVE
Experienced carpenter with the ability to perform all facets of finish trim carpentry in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations
- Mentoring new or inexperienced carpenters
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings
- Efficient and safe use of power tools, measuring and cutting of materials
- Make various cuts to different millwork pieces to fit properly
- Install molding/ trim of windows, doors, crown molding, mantels, and other various ornamental pieces
- Install cabinetry if needed
- Install finish materials such as blinds, door hardware, bath hardware, etc.
- Complete various putty & paint touch ups
- Work closely with Site Superintendent/ Field Manager/ Project Manager to coordinate materials & tools needed to complete various finish carpentry tasks and stay on schedule
- Assess proper quality of materials and woodworks
- Occasional forklift operations and certifications
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience
Required:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent is required
- Must have valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from the job site
- Extensive building construction knowledge in finish carpentry work
- 5+ years of carpentry experience
- Extensive understanding of building materials
- Ability to problem solve
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work alone and/or unsupervised
- Able to follow all safety rules and OSHA regulations
- Ability to maintain excellent attendance record
- Ability to work in a team environment and individually based on specific job requirements
- Great attention to detail.
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 certification
- Associates degree in carpentry or completion of carpentry apprenticeship preferred
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting/turning, crouching, crawling
- Ability to work at various heights
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position involves working in all climates as well as multi-story buildings on an active construction site. This role routinely is exposed to dust and noise associated with saws and power tools.
Special Requirements: This position requires regular in-state travel with the ability to work 40 - 50 hours per week Monday – Friday, with occasional hours outside of that range as business necessitates. This position may require overnight stay near job sites regularly.
