Nichols Contracting, Inc. (NCI) is a family-owned and operated Construction and Contracting business headquartered in Columbia, MD with offices in Royal Palm Beach and Orlando, FL with a team of 170 employees. NCI is a full-service general contractor focused on providing premier services in all aspects of the construction process, from concept to completion. We manage a broad range of commercial construction projects, including new construction, tenant fit outs, and renovations. NCI services a diverse group of markets including federal, state, and local governments, as well as a variety of corporate and special industry organizations that require complex life safety and critical infrastructure needs.
The Crew Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of a construction crew on job sites to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. The Crew Leader acts as a liaison between field personnel and site management, ensuring daily tasks align with project goals and schedules.
Essential Functions:
· Works with a crew as the lead under the supervision of a foreman or Assistant Superintendent
· Assists with organization and security of the tools and equipment
· Provides scheduling input when requested then follows the direction given
· Maintains a clean work area and leads the effort in safety compliance
· Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to remain flexible a s specific assignments change.
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.
Education and Experience:
- Prior job experience preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license.
Physical Requirement:
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
- Must be able to work some Saturdays and at night, when needed.
