- Performs general tests in all laboratory areas including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology and microbiology under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- Performs and records preventative maintenance on lab instrumentation and identifies problems with lab equipment.
- Validates laboratory test data, enters date into LIS system, and reviews it for completeness and accuracy.
- Report data to Physicians, Infection Control, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Performs quality control, calibrations, and validations on test assays.
- Performs specimen collection, handling, processing, and storage per regulations.
- Evaluates specimen’s quality for testing and troubleshoots deviations.
- Participates in QA and QI projects and collects data.
- Assists with training and education of lab assistants and waived testing personnel.
- Maintains competency and education in general lab practices.
- Role models the Principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
- One year of experience as a MLT or Lab Assistant in a high complexity lab preferred.
