PT Line Cook at Creative Dining Services

Join the Creative Dining team at Kuyper College today! 

We are looking for friendly, experienced food service professionals to complete our line cook team, serving great food to hungry students and guests on the Kuyper College campus. Our staff have every-other weekend off, paid time off, and opportunities for training and advancement, plus time off between semesters to spend with family and friends during the winter holidays. 

Availability: 3-4 afternoon/evenings per week, rotating weekends - averaging 20 hours per week.

Core Responsibilities: 

• Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal 
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
• Attractive presentation, plating and service of prepared items 
• Maintain a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times; clean up spills quickly, wear protective gear as needed (ie: slicer glove), and store wares safely
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service to all guests
• Perform other duties as assigned 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

• Minimum of 1 years cooking experience, preferably in cafeteria and fast-paced environments
• Desire to acquire more training with the goal of promotion within the unit.
• Experience with high-volume cooking, as well as specialized dietary needs and/or restrictions
• Reliable work ethic, communication skills and excellent teamwork 
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required 
• ServSafe Certification a plus!
