Greystone is a Christian summer camp for girls located in the mountains of North Carolina with a mission to delight and inspire for the glory of God. We are looking for joyful, hard-working, service-oriented counselors who love children to work at our full-summer sessions (Junior, June, Main, and/or August Camp).
Counselors work on a team, develop resilience, and lead by example in everything they do. Greystone counselors model Christ, encourage others, take initiative, work well with others, show adaptability, and put their campers first, all for the glory of God. If you want to grow your career skills, make friends, have fun, and surround yourself with a supportive, Christian community, working at Greystone is for you!
Key Responsibilities
All counselors teach activities, sit at tables with campers in the Dining Hall, and serve as role models at all times. Female counselors can either serve on Cabin Staff or Program Staff, and Male counselors serve on our Men Staff. Cabin Staff live in a cabin with campers, taking care of their daily needs and leading a nightly devotion. Program Staff live in cabins with other counselors and demonstrate leadership and service by assisting in many areas of camp. Counselor responsibilities are not limited to this; all counselors are expected to serve willingly wherever they are asked.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Greystone counselors must be Christians who love children and are excited to live and work in a tight-knit community. Full-Summer counselors must be at least one year out of high school and be able to attend our Staff Orientation before the summer begins. Counselors receive specialized training for their activity areas; all we ask is that you’re willing to learn!
Benefits
Your summer at Greystone will be fun, purposeful, engaging, and joy-filled. This job is not always easy, but we care deeply about taking care of our staff so that you are equipped to do your work well. We offer a competitive salary and a substantial full-summer bonus for counselors who work Junior, June, Main, and August Camp. Room and board are included, and staff receive 1 day off during June Camp, 3 days off during Main Camp, and an extra day off before August Camp begins. Greystone counselors also receive ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development, as well as lots of treats and merch.
