We’re a lean team that’s expanding quickly, and we’re looking for someone who believes in our vision to shift the way people experience scents.
The Role:
Structure, people, and framework thinking are integral to maintaining Snif’s vibrant, productive culture. As the Chief of Staff, you will be considered an extension of our CEO, driving strategic and operational initiatives across the brand and functions.
This role requires someone who can navigate being both a generalist and a specialist across a variety of areas of the business. You are extremely detail-oriented, collaborative, communicative, empathetic, and thrive on spearheading projects from inception to completion in a timely manner. As we continue to scale, this individual will set the tone as a people leader, overseeing meeting scheduling and agendas, the hiring process, company-wide goals, internal performance reviews, key presentations, and special initiatives.
In our high-trust, fast-paced environment, this role is critical to the success and growth of Snif and its team. You are a shepherd of the CEO’s vision and motivated to inspire, support, strategize, and execute at every level.
While we are based in New York City, we operate as a remote team. This job may require travel ~10% of the time depending on business needs.
What You'll Do:
Planning and Strategic Support
Act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO on business decisions, organization, and prioritization
Communicate important business updates to the broader team for transparency and clarity
Develop critical presentation models or “strawmen,” outlining structure and content for the team to utilize
Drive and execute special projects set by the CEO
Manage the CEO’s priorities so they are aligned with company objectives
Own internal company processes - including agendas, operational calendar, and workflow optimization
Lead our weekly Team, Management, and Product Launch Sync Meetings
Goal Setting and Cross-Functional Leadership
Work alongside the CEO to set and track company-wide goals
Check in with department heads to ensure they are making progress on functional goals and initiatives
Partner with our Director of Finance to lead Board preparation, investor communication, and metrics
Collaborate with department leaders to ensure alignment across functions and projects
Milestones and Process Management
Own our Milestones Tracker, ensuring that new product launches and high-impact replenishment orders are executed on time and with excellence
Streamline decision-making, reduce bottlenecks, and proactively problem-solve
Vet productivity and educational resources for the team to improve output and professional growth
Team, Performance, and Culture
Own the hiring process for new team members, from role creation through onboarding
Drive Snif’s performance management cycles and year-end reviews ensuring clarity, consistency, and accountability across the organization
Maintain, update, and distribute our culture, well-being, and benefits documentation
Plan quarterly “Collab Weeks,” where Snif employees meet in person for coworking and team-bonding
What You'll Bring:
Extensive experience in consulting, operations, strategy, and/or people management (startup and consumer goods environments preferred)
High EQ, with discretion and judgment as a trusted operator
Ability to break down complex problems or processes to fundamentals in order to execute thoughtfully and efficiently
An imaginative yet analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data into simple, real-world outcomes and goals
Excellent project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders to drive accountability and deliver results
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that foster real, trusting relationships
Openness to direct communication and feedback lead with kindness and positivity
Strength and rigor in navigating ambiguity—you’re a self-starter and a team player
Curiosity and innovation—you’re constantly seeking ways to improve products and processes

Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Suite
