The Palm Springs Unified School District has sixteen elementary schools, five middle schools, four comprehensive high schools, one continuation high school, alternative education programs, one independent study program, and several headstart/state preschools. Requirements / Qualifications
A current probationary or permanent employee in the posted classification may apply for this transfer opportunity. All other PSUSD employees may also apply for this promotional opportunity if they have completed their probationary period in their current classification.

SUMMARY:
The Paraprofessional Special Education Health assists assigned personnel in the supervision and instruction of Special Education and other identified students as assigned; and performs clerical, medical, and health related procedures in support of the instructional process. **PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK ABOVE TO READ THE COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION**
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities to apply medical methods and procedures within clearly defined guidelines; provide first aide and CPR procedures; perform specialized health interventions such as oral suctioning, cauterization, gastronomy, tube feeding, and other procedures to assist medically fragile students with special needs; monitor, observe and report student health issues and progress according to approved policies and procedures; assist in positioning, moving and transferring students with multiple disabilities; ensure that tasks are performed in regards to Individual Education Plan requirements; adhere to safety practices; operate standard office equipment; prepare and maintain accurate records.
CPR and First Aid certification are required within 30 days of hire.
Passage of a physical exam for this classification is also required if coming from a different classification.
