Packing Technologist
We are excited to offer the role of a Sourcing Packaging Technologist.
This role reports to the Sourcing Manager - Directs and sits within our Group Operations team. This role play a critical role in delivering long-term, sustainable value through the development and optimisation of packaging used across the Blackmores Group.
You’ll be the technical lead for packaging components used at our manufacturing sites and with third-party packers, ensuring they meet our standards for quality, safety, sustainability, and performance.
You will be based either in our Surry Hills or Warriewood site and is expected to work three days in office and 2 days from home.
What will you do?
Assess the capability and suitability of packaging suppliers and materials
Lead packaging development, trials, and implementation across internal and external sites
Resolve packaging issues at root cause and manage change control processes
Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Sustainability, and Engineering teams
Maintain packaging specifications and ensure GMP validation activities are completed
Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for packaging and contract packing
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in packaging design and supply

Who are you?
Preferably bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or any relevant education background to the role.
Posses at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a technical packaging role, ideally within FMCG, healthcare, pharmaceutical manufacturing or in food production work environment.
Proven experience in packaging innovation, value engineering, involvement with projects and end-to-end product development
Strong root cause analysis and project execution skills
Preferred qualities: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, high attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, self motivated, results driven and a proactive individual
Desirable: experience with packaging for therapeutic goods and commercial acumen in sourcing or procurement
