Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. The Rio de Janeiro Office is searching for a Civil Engineer, preferably with a Master’s Degree in Structural engineering, with 2 to 4 years’ industry experience to perform design services. The ideal candidate should have worked as an intern/co-op or structural engineer in a team environment participating in the the production and development of structural concepts, analysis and calculations, construction drawings, services and material specifications, construction support services, and field inspections.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Development of structural analysis, design and detailing of concrete, steel, and timber structures
- Finite element static and dynamic structural modeling and analysis of structures
- Assist Senior Engineers with the preparation of design concepts, specifications, schedules, quantity and cost estimates
- Prepare design calculations and check calculations
- Coordinate detailed plan details with engineers and drafting technicians
- Participate in field inspections, reports prepartions and in projects of rehabilitation of waterfront structures
- Works in cooperation with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering is required
- Master’s of Science in Structural Engineering as a differential
- Entry level with related internship experience or up to 2 years of industry experience
- Civil engineer Licence CREA-RJ
- Familiarity with either AutoCad / MicroStation, SAP2000 and REVIT as a differencial
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
