Overview

The Intern is responsible for learning and applying their technical skills in practical situations and working as part of a team or individually carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision. Interns will be exposed to a variety of financial statements, including compilations, reviews, and audits. Through this process, they will gain real-world business experience.


Audit Experience

  • Prepare financial statements including auditing cash, PP&E fixed assets and accounts payable.
  • Gain experience with balance sheet and income statement analysis, etc.
  • Establish close working relationships with clients in different industries during fieldwork. 
  • Become a vital member of the audit team and assist with other responsibilities during the audit.

Client Service Management

  • Seek to gain knowledge of client business operations and goals.
  • Understand key performance measures of the client (profitability, fluctuations, etc.)

Business Development

  • Build understanding of firm processes and client service offerings.

Team Development

  • Build strong team relationship skills.
  • Work as an effective team member.

Personal Effectiveness

  • Effectively apply education and firm training to practical situations.
  • Effectively complete projects and assigned tasks.
  • Pursue self-development opportunities.

Leadership

  • Own assigned tasks and keep ICs informed of progress and problems.


Requirements

 Education:

  • Satisfactory completion of Intermediate Accounting I and working towards an accounting or finance degree

Production

  • Meet firm standard for chargeable hours and realization

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Team player with a positive – “can do” approach.
  • Ability to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Practical understanding of tax and accounting concepts.
  • Adequate written and verbal communication skills.
Salary Description
$29/hour
