Responsibilities
(FOR CURRENT EMPLOYEES ONLY)
Take primary responsibility for managing scholar behavior and maintaining an effective academic environment for those in Saturday University.
Keep the classroom environment organized, attractive, and safe.
Ensure that all scholars have missing assignments and projects.
Maintain close proximity to each of the scholars and circulate regularly.
Collaborate with scholars' classroom teachers regarding academic performance and assignments via email and Schoology.
Properly log and track scholar information, including attendance, restorative approaches, and work completed
Assume primary responsibility for communicating with parents to ensure parents are partners in education.
Maintain high expectations during both Saturday University programming for academic and social emotional well-being.
Requirements
(FOR CURRENT EMPLOYEES ONLY)
Experience in an educational setting, ideally with a focus on classroom management, restorative practices, school culture, or scholar support services
Problem-solving skills: Competence in addressing and resolving conflicts or issues that may arise during sessions.
Cultural Competency: Awareness and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and the ability to create an inclusive environment.
Good computer skills – proficient in Word, Excel, and Smart Board
Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work with individuals and small groups of scholars
Ability to manage whole groups of parents/scholars while maintaining effective behavior management
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and foster collaboration
Minimum of three years of experience in education. Maintain appropriate attendance for Saturday University initiatives and interventions to be supportive and effective for scholars.
