A non-exempt position operating as the first point of contact for our patients and responsible for transferring calls to the appropriate department, taking messages, and managing incoming hospital consults.
Job Duties to include but not limited to:
Assign, Manage and Page Consults
Print and Manage Hospital Lists Daily
Schedule Appointments
Works Unlinked Recall Lists on a Bi-Monthly Basis
Index Encounter Forms Daily
Efficient use of the EMR
Performs clerical duties as assigned to maintain workflow in the department
Covers the front desk areas as assigned
Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times
Provides a pleasant and helpful phone contact for callers
Communicates effectively with callers to ensure complete resolution of inquiry
Assists Non-English speaking callers utilizing the resources available.
Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff
Able to efficiently triage, connect and transfer calls.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results
Promotes a system wide team approach through open and timely communication
Promote professional and courteous communication with customers and staff
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:Must have at least two years’ experience in customer service with at least six months in a healthcare setting. Patient representative experience preferred.
Personal Qualities: Customer service focused and responsive to customer’s needs, energetic, respects confidentiality, proactive and able to work independently. Flexible and organized, with attention to detail and quality.
