We are looking for a Part Time Goods In Stores Operative to join the team to help deal with goods and products that come into the warehouse or facility. Daily tasks will include, checking for damaged or missing items, moving stock around by hand or using forklift truck, and keeping the paperwork up to date.
What you'll do:
Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilisation.
Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
Checking deliveries in and booking them onto a goods inwards sheet / computer system.
Store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse.
Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or with heavy lifting equipment.
Distributes all deliveries to relevant departments.
Load and unload vehicles.
Keeps stock sheets up-to-date, carry out stock checks and assist with cycle counts.
Liaise with Warehouse Supervisor re stock shortages.
Checking of raw material against system.
Clean the space and ensure that goods are not damaged.
Empty waste bins around the shop floor.
Change recycling containers on shop floor.
What it takes:
Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift truck, pallet truck, overhead crane hoist etc.) we will train.
Previous experience in warehouse work an advantage.
Good numeracy and literacy.
Able to work safely with sharp tools/objects, such as but not limited to, hobby knives, utility knives, pliers
Physical job requirements including reaching, bending, and grasping.
Able to use a computer and calculator. Able to read and write in English, and do basic arithmetic.
Strong attention to detail.
Being a self-starter with a high level of energy will help you excel in this job.
Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
Must be punctual and have good attendance.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Independent, dependable, resourceful and self-motivated.
Ability to work well with all functional work groups within the company
