Vice President of Safety at Crete Carrier Corporation

Oversees safety and compliance departments in order to achieve Company safety objectives and ensure overall regulatory compliance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Performs supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel including interviewing, hiring, firing, training, developing, planning, assigning work, coaching, appraising performance, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. • Gathers, reviews, and analyzes information and metrics to determine performance within the safety and compliance departments.• Develops, implements, and refines policies, procedures, metrics, and programs to ensure overall effective departmental performance.• Confers with executives and other administrative personnel to review metrics and achievements and discuss required changes in goals and objectives as a result of current status and conditions. • Reviews preventable accidents, incidents, and occurrences, including on-truck technology captured driving events, in order to determine necessary training or discipline. • Collaborates with other departments regarding driver qualification and orientation process, and approves or denies driver application files in accordance with DOT rules and regulations and Company requirements.• Monitors driver personnel files, including conducting internal audits of driver files, in accordance with federal and state guidelines and Company policies. • Advises Company personnel regarding safety policies and procedures and federal and state regulations.• Answers after-hours safety-related calls as needed. • Addresses driver issues and resolves issues appropriately. • Monitors drug testing program for DOT and non-DOT personnel.• Oversees Safety Qualification Program for Driver Trainers. • Travels as needed. • Receives and carries out instructions.• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
