Summary

The ideal candidate is responsible for the daily operations of the Member Card Room including but not limited to arranging furniture, restocking food and drinks, bussing tables and plating food items. The Card Room Attendant will record daily member/guest attendance, inventory and ordering of supplies. The Card Room Attendant will greet members and communicate all member feedback and concerns to the Manager at the end of each shift.

 

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the club room, storage area and kitchen
  • Attend to members and member-guests needs graciously, promptly and with a smile
  • Replenish, organize and display snacks, beverages, dish and glassware throughout the day
  • Complete opening and closing side work including food items and dishware
  • Place beverage and food orders upon request
  • Maintain inventory levels and order items as needed
  • Service snacks and beverages to members and member-guests
  • Move furniture including but not limited to tables and chairs as required
  • Complete daily shift reporting
  • Communicate with Manager to ensure members and member-guests requests are fulfilled
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management

 

Internal Relationships

Reports to Card Room Manager.

 

External Relationships

Has regular contact with The Boca Raton Club members, ensuring all requests inquiries or concerns are followed up on expediently and professionally.

 

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have occupied a similar or higher position for one to two years.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess moderate computer skills.
  • A minimum of one to three years’ experience in a similar position

 

Education/Experience Requirements

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
  • Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedure to pre-check order and close out the check.

 

Physical Requirements

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
