Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to play a vital role in supporting the implementation of occupational therapy services for students with developmental, learning, and sensory challenges. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA helps students build the functional, social, and daily living skills necessary to access their education and fully participate in school life.

Key Responsibilities:
Implementation of Services:
- Carry out individualized therapy activities and interventions as outlined in student IEPs and treatment plans under the supervision of the OT.
- Support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory regulation, visual-motor integration, and self-care abilities.
- Assist with adaptive equipment, classroom tools, and strategies that promote independence and participation.
Collaboration & Integration:
- Work closely with teachers, behavior therapists, and related service providers to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom and daily routines.
- Adapt and prepare classroom materials to meet individual student needs.
- Support positive behavior and engagement through therapeutic strategies.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Collect and document data on student progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions.
- Maintain compliance with school, state, and federal regulations regarding therapy services and student records.
Professionalism & Team Engagement:
- Cultivate a positive and productive workplace atmosphere to enhance team morale and effectiveness.
- Participate in and complete training sessions as delegated by management to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Perform any additional job responsibilities assigned by supervisors or team leaders to support the organization’s smooth operation.
- Accept reassignment as required.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through NBCOT.
- Active state licensure to practice as a COTA.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in an educational or pediatric setting.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Must have satisfactory background checks.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
