HR Manager
Reports to: VP of Human Resources
Status: Exempt
Location: Hybrid (Mt Pleasant SC)
Overview
The HR Manager will serve as a key partner and right hand to the VP of Human Resources, with a strong focus on benefits strategy/administration and HR compliance. This role requires an experienced HR professional who can balance strategic insight with hands-on execution, ensuring the company remains compliant, competitive, and aligned with best practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings to interview coordination and candidate selection.
- Oversee and administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, renewals, vendor management, and open enrollment periods.
- Serve as the in-house subject matter expert on benefits, providing guidance to employees and leadership.
- Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Partner with the VP of HR on compliance audits, policy updates, and risk management.
- Ensure new hires are successfully onboarded through orientation, documentation, and cultural integration.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employees regarding HR-related matters, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.
- Support payroll review and ensure data integrity across HRIS and benefits platforms.
- Assist in the execution of performance evaluation processes and support managers with employee development initiatives.
- Coordinate employee training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Prepare and maintain HR-related reports, including ACA, headcount, turnover, and compliance tracking, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the VP of HR with ad hoc projects, policy development, employee engagement initiatives, and cross-collaborative programs.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on benefits administration and compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and ACA reporting.
- Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA).
- Experience with HRIS platforms and benefits databases.
- Proven ability to partner with leadership and act as a strategic advisor while managing day-to-day HR operations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
