Job Title: Janitorial Team Member
Department: Business Enterprises
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Lead Janitorial Team Member
General Statement of Duties:
The Janitorial Team Member is responsible for the completion of daily cleaning tasks in a customer's location in either Oneida or Lewis County. This position will be assigned cleaning duties by the Lead Janitorial Team Member or Offsite Janitorial Coordinator based on the customer's scope of work. This position must be customer centric since all duties are conducted under contract in the customers building.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below and essential functions may change from time to time.
- Have a functional understanding of all aspects of the customers cleaning and contract requirements.
- Maintain proper security when entering/leaving the building to comply with rules set forth by the customer.
- Complete all cleaning tasks as assigned, and ensure the work performed meets the requirements under the contract standards and scope of work.
- Assist Lead Team Member with supply inventory and communicate on supplies needed.
- Ensure that best practices and safety procedures are performed as required.
- Provide excellent communication and service to the customer and other employees.
- Contribute to entire Janitorial team by assisting and filling in as required when staff is out.
- Maintain timely and accurate operation documents daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Remove snow, apply ice melt, and clean exterior grounds on parameter of building as assigned.

- Maintain and promote confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy.
- Comply with all aspects of the Agency's Safety Policy.
- Attend and complete all mandatory training.
- Adhere to scheduled hours and submit completed timesheets to supervisor on time each payroll period.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to pass all security clearance screenings to access property and building.
- Ability to work independently and function as a contributing team member with a wide range of people.
- Ability to work flexible schedules which may include early mornings, day, weekend, or evening shifts.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to move materials from one area to another.
- Must be able to use any machine used by the janitorial department.
Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Relevant experience accepted in lieu of education.
