DP World are currently recruiting for a Head of Technology Transformation Architecture who will be responsible for leading the architectural direction and execution of technology transformation initiatives across the Europe region.  This role could be based anywhere within our Europe region with the expectation of relevant business travel when required.

 

About the role:

  • Designing, implementing, and overseeing architectural frameworks that drive innovation, optimise operational efficiencies, and enable business growth. The position requires a deep understanding of emerging technologies, digital transformation, and business requirements, ensuring that technology systems and infrastructure are scalable, adaptable, and aligned with long-term corporate goals.

  • Work closely with senior leadership, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful execution of transformative technology strategies, enhance user experiences, and drive business value through effective technological solutions

  • Lead technology transformation architecture within Europe region (including Contract Logistics, Freight and Ports & Terminals)

  • Acts as the focal point in Europe region in relation to technology transformation architecture activities with extensive internal client interaction, obtaining briefs, and then planning and implementing a solution

  • Assesses change impact and readiness and plans change activities accordingly to ensure change in mindsets, skills, and behaviours. 

  • Leadership of supporting IT teams delivering tailor made technology and digital solutions based on state-of-the-art modern software platforms as well as business applications.

  • Create engaging, enabling, and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition. 

  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance during performance management cycles to facilitate the professional development/growth of others. 

  • Identifies the learning and growth needs of the team and facilitates/effects opportunities for their development. 

  • Assist with budget planning for Technology Transformation

  • Evaluate best-fit digital solutions and business applications based on business requirements for non-core strategic software considering acquiring ready-to-go modern digital solutions available on the market as well as self-developed tailored solutions

  • Support business on the requirements definition using available digital solutions and business applications expertise and consultancy. 

  • Develop scope, manage, and prioritise Transformation and Digitisation IT Projects to ensure delivery on time and on budget. 

  • Maintain a catalogue of reusable digital artefacts to be able to deliver best suited technology and digital solutions. 

  • Use subject matter expertise and skills in operations to support planning, designing, implementing, and delivering globally scalable technology and digital solutions following the software (development) lifecycle rules. 

 

Your Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience within the logistics and supply chain industry

  • 10 years working in a multi-national enterprise environment with a broad knowledge of IT technologies

  • Developed and executed comprehensive strategies for digital modernisation, cloud migration, and IT infrastructure optimisation across large organizations

  • Experienced in assessing technological capabilities, and design scalable, future-proof architectures aligned with organisational objectives

  • Developed solutions utilising emerging technologies, such as AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and Blockchain, to improve business agility, streamline operations, and enhance customer experiences

  • Architected and implemented multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to optimize performance, cost-efficiency, and security across business units while ensuring seamless data integration

  • Designed and deployed enterprise-wide data strategies, ensuring high availability, security, and real-time analytics to support data-driven decision-making across diverse business functions

  • Defined and enforced technology standards and best practices, including security frameworks, agile methodologies, and DevOps processes, to enhance the delivery of software and services across global teams.

  • Conducted gap analysis and benchmarking assessments to evaluate current technology ecosystems and propose future-state architectures that support long-term strategic goals.

  • Understanding of software development and software development lifecycle

  • Project management methodologies and tools

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs

  • Ability to motivate employees, handle difficult employee relations issues and create a culture that supports high employee morale

  • Proven IT project management and planning skills, with demonstrable success in delivering large IT projects within time and budget constraints

  • Ability to quickly understand and disseminate client requirements to provide the most effective solution

  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot problems

  • Have an awareness of current and emerging technologies, and industry best practices

  • Experience in implementing digital process optimisations solutions in the logistics and ports and terminal industry;
