What will this role achieve?
We are seeking an Assistant Brand Manager to support the McVitie’s Masterbrand and Everyday biscuits portfolio. This role plays a key part in shaping the future of one of the UK’s most iconic food brands. Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to strategic brand planning and execution, delivering distinctive marketing programmes that strengthen brand equity and drive consumer engagement. Responsibilities include leading innovation and renovation projects, managing cross-functional teams and external agencies, and ensuring all initiatives align with commercial objectives. The Assistant Brand Manager will act as a brand ambassador both internally and externally, helping to build brands that spark conversation and deliver growth.
This role is based in Chiswick Park on a hybrid basis (3:2).
What will be your key deliverables?
- Brand Strategy & Execution: Support the Senior Brand Manager in developing and implementing the annual brand plan, including innovation and renovation projects.
- Portfolio Leadership: Lead part of the brand portfolio by tracking performance, driving cross-functional alignment, and championing the brand internally and externally.
- Insight & Analysis: Conduct consumer insight and competitor analysis, and produce regular and ad-hoc performance reports using IRI/Nielsen and Kantar data.
- Project & Agency Management: Manage cross-functional teams and external agencies (design and comms) for packaging updates and campaign execution.
- Internal & External Activation: Lead internal PR initiatives and assist with communication and activation projects, including social, PR, and in-store efforts.
- Collaboration & Influence: Build strong relationships across commercial, technical, and supply chain teams, inspiring others and securing buy-in without formal authority.

- FMCG Marketing Experience
- Project Management Experience – ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage timeline and high quality outputs
- Media and Social Expertise: Experience in developing digital-first campaigns
- Strong stakeholder relationship builder – skilled at influencing without authority and championing brand initiatives
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent experience
What will the interview process be?
- 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
- 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.
pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!
