Software Engineer Supervisor at SAIC

SAIC has an opening for a Lead Software Engineer to support the S3I located on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

 

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

 

• Leading the design and development of embedded software for military systems

• Leading a team of software engineers through the full software development life cycle (e.g., requirements analysis, design, code, integration, test, documentation, and support) following an agile/scrum development process

• Organize and run software team meetings

• Participate in requirements and design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and other management meetings as needed

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Clearance: 

• Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills: 

• Must have proven experience leading software teams through the full software development life cycle.

• Must have a strong knowledge of C/C++ and experience developing software for real-time embedded systems.

• Must have development experience with VxWorks or other real time operating systems.

• Must have knowledge of formal software development processes and experience working in an agile/scrum environment

Desired Skills:

• Scrum Master Certification is desired.

• Experience in Software Systems Safety is a plus.

• Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design methods and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
