How involved did you feel in daily work discussion or project discussion?
"Very involved. When I was in on a project, it felt like I was all in. I never felt like I was being withheld from utilizing any resources available or any knowledge. I can't overstate how thankful I am for my supervisors and mentors here. They have been an invaluable resource in my learning here."
What are 3 skills you've gained during your internship?
"I'm now able to navigate and use Auto CAD and Civil 3D, I can now do field surveys where I felt like I had no knowledge going in to but feel more confident now, and lastly the ability to use QGIS and GIS."
When considering future employment, is the RQAW culture the type environment you will be seeking?
"Absolutely. I've always said that working in a healthy company culture with good people is my biggest priority when looking for long-term work, and I think RQAW exemplifies these qualities. It is my sincere desire to continue working for the company throughout my final semester and I hope to work here full time upon graduation!"

Responsibilities could include based on department:
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
- Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, design, and Civil 3D
- Assisting with field work for data collection, site inspections and observations.
- Preparing spreadsheets, and graphs, and figures for design reports
- Observe and attend meetings with project stakeholders
- Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors while tracking material quality and usage
- Work with field inspections teams for oversight of transportation construction projects
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Construction/Architecture
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Strong organizational and communications skills
