About the Department
Position Duties
This position will be a part of the Leadership Team for Adult Services. The purpose of this position is to develop, implement, monitor, and supervise program compliance as well as program standards for Adult Protective Services and Guardianship. This person will plan programs that meet the needs of a multi-problem customer population. This requires the ability to interpret data in light of existing policy and procedure, project impact on budget, and assess the need for developing and implementing different policies and procedures. This person will develop programs consistent with statute, state policy, and procedure; revise policies to meet the needs of adults when changes occur; and advocate for legislation to strengthen programs that already exist or would allow for the development of programs to meet specific needs. This person will initiate and participate in the development and implementation of mechanisms to generate management reports which reflect program and staff effectiveness. This will include practice standards, reporting systems, fiscal accountability, and other quality assurance measures. The person in this position may also assist with monitoring and supervision of Adult Day Care Services, Representative Payee Services, Special Assistance In-Home Services, Homemaker Services, Adult Home Specialists, Crisis/Intake, Care Center Domestic Violence Program, Qualified Substance Abuse Professional Services, and/or Work First Employment Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and four years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or bachelor's degree in social work and five years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or bachelor's degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and six years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: The selected applicant will be subject to the following conditions prior to appointment. Failure to complete or fulfill these conditions may result in dismissal.
The employee in this position will be operating motor vehicles for Cumberland County and shall have a valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Law enforcement background check is required.
Duties of this position require the use of the employee's personal vehicle.
This position will require assisting in emergency and/or disaster situations.
The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has a dress code policy that must be adhered to. This policy includes specific guidelines related to tattoos and body piercing.
