Duties:

• Assisting with sterile surgical procedures including prepping, scrubbing, circulating, surgical suite set-up,
• Developing anesthesia plan with doctor, administration of anesthesia medications, anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
• Assisting with taking radiographs including proper placement and knowledge of patient positioning
• Performing diagnostic testing and lab work
• Starting appointments for doctors including taking history from clients, gathering vitals and presenting patient information to doctor
• Discharging patients including client education of at home care, medication instructions, etc.
• Performing other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Exceptional Customer Service and Communication Skills
• Positive attitude
• Must be able to multitask and thrive in a team environment
• Prior knowledge of Idexx laboratory machines and Cornerstone Veterinary Software preferred
• Basic Microsoft programs knowledge

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift patients up to 40lbs throughout the workday with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree from an accredited veterinary program highly preferred
• Successful completion of the Veterinary Tech National Exam and Registered in North Carolina highly preferred
• At least 1-year surgery and/or anesthesia related experience
