Duties:
- Assisting with sterile surgical procedures including prepping, scrubbing, circulating, surgical suite set-up,
- Developing anesthesia plan with doctor, administration of anesthesia medications, anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
- Assisting with taking radiographs including proper placement and knowledge of patient positioning
- Performing diagnostic testing and lab work
- Starting appointments for doctors including taking history from clients, gathering vitals and presenting patient information to doctor
- Discharging patients including client education of at home care, medication instructions, etc.
- Performing other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional Customer Service and Communication Skills
- Positive attitude
- Must be able to multitask and thrive in a team environment
- Prior knowledge of Idexx laboratory machines and Cornerstone Veterinary Software preferred
- Basic Microsoft programs knowledge
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift patients up to 40lbs throughout the workday with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree from an accredited veterinary program highly preferred
- Successful completion of the Veterinary Tech National Exam and Registered in North Carolina highly preferred
- At least 1-year surgery and/or anesthesia related experience
