Transportation Supervisor at Southern Ionics

Southern Ionics is seeking a skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team in West Point, Mississippi. In this role, you will coordinate the company’s shipping and customer delivery activities, managing both company-employed truck drivers and external transportation services. The position offers a competitive salary of $75,000 + performance bonus, commensurate with experience.

Functions

• Develop and manage dispatch schedules based on production planning, utilizing both company and external drivers as needed.

• Interview and screen candidates for truck driver positions, ensuring compliance with DOT licensing, substance abuse screening, and company standards.

• Oversee the preparation of bills of lading, secure optimal freight rates, and manage less-than-truckload shipments.

• Conduct spot checks on loading patterns to ensure shipments meet company and customer requirements.

• Collaborate with Customer Service to address customer needs and ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in computer systems.

• High school diploma required; a BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.

• Experience in supervising personnel and knowledge of scheduling or tractor-trailer maintenance preferred.
