We are currently seeking an Applications Engineering Intern to grow our technical support team in our San Diego, CA office. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for our products and customers to help us grow our business. This position requires a dynamic, self-motivated, hard-working, results-oriented individual to make contributions to a small, but very focused team.

Responsibilities

  • Generation of technical documentation for Elevate products including datasheets, product guides, application notes and other material to support integration of these devices into customer systems.
  • Work hands on in the lab to collect data for customer documentation.
  • Interface with internal engineering teams to help bring new products from initial concept through production release by assisting with new product definition, bench validation, and generation of technical documentation.
  • Perform bench testing and analysis to support customer inquiries and troubleshooting issues.
  • Reproduce customer observations and provide technical guidance on how to use Elevate parts.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and identify differentiation for Elevate IC products.
  • Support failure, quality, and reliability analysis in conjunction with the operations team

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program with at least 3 years of educational experience. This will allow this intern to convert to a full-time position upon graduation.
  • Experience with the use of electronic bench equipment - hands on experience in the lab debugging, probing, and characterizing silicon using a mixture of custom-made and standard equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, source measurement units, etc.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of system and circuit level troubleshooting capability.
  • Be self-motivated and require minimal supervision.
  • Exposure to some programming language.
  • Must be able to work onsite in San Diego, CA office.

This role is classified as a temporary, internship-based position and is paid on an hourly basis at a rate of $23.00 per hour. Employment is contingent upon continued business need and does not guarantee permanent placement.
