We are seeking a skilled and motivated Audio-Visual Specialist to join our IT department. This position operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions as needed for installations and repairs.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of all audio-visual equipment within our company's conference rooms and meeting spaces. 

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and test a wide range of audio-visual equipment, including projectors, displays, video conferencing systems (e.g., Q-SYS, Polycom, Teams  Rooms), audio systems, microphones, speakers, and control systems (e.g., Crestron).
  • Manage cabling, wiring, and rack-mounting of A/V components, ensuring neatness and adherence to standards.
  • Set up A/V equipment for scheduled meetings, events, and presentations.
  • Provide prompt and effective troubleshooting for A/V hardware and software issues, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions.
  • Respond to user support requests and provide technical assistance for A/V-related inquiries.
  • Manage inventory of A/V equipment, accessories, and spare parts.
  • Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new A/V technologies and solutions.
  • Keep A/V systems updated with the latest firmware and software.
  • Develop user-friendly guides and resources for A/V system operation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting A/V systems, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex), audio mixing consoles, DSPs (Digital Signal Processors), and microphone systems.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating projectors, flat-panel displays, and sound systems.
  • Familiarity with control system programming (Crestron, AMX, Extron) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret A/V schematics and blueprints.

Location: Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, 3599 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, FL 32216. May require light travel around area. 

Hours: Full-time, 40 hour per week

Compensation: Experience, education and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
