Records Specialist
Location: 315 Court Street, Clearwater, FL 33756
The Clerk of the Circuit Court is looking for new members to join our team as part of one of the finest organizations in Pinellas County. Employees of the Clerk of the Circuit Court provide quality service to the public. As a member of our working team, you will occupy a position offering a unique challenge. You are, in effect, working both for your neighbors and yourself while constantly improving your community. This is specialized clerical work docketing, processing subsequent pleadings, and working with reports.
What Would You Do?
- Processes Civil Defaults.
- Docketing
- Process work from reports
- Processes Notices of Action
- Utilizes Intellidact/Odyssey applications.
- Issues summonses.
- Processes Foreign Judgments.
- Process Writs of Garnishment/possession.
- Process Judgement Liens.
- Communicates diplomatically with coworkers, the public, legal community, and the judiciary both in person and electronically.
- Works closely with leadership team to meet departmental goals.
- Processes electronic filings, completes redactions and processes pleadings in verification queues.
- Completes and preforms related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
What Do you Need To Have?
- 1-year experience in clerical work which may include 1-year customer service experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Highly Desirable
- Experience with recordkeeping practices and procedures.
- Experience working with automated office equipment, practices and procedures.
- Experience in the operation of automated office equipment.
- Experience providing application of quality customer service.
- Experience providing information correctly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the Florida Statutes, Rules of Court, and regulations pertinent to area of assignment.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, grammar, spelling, and math.
- Ability to follow instructions in accordance with laws, regulations, and procedures.
