Moscow is a small, tight-knit community located next to the University of Idaho.

Moscow Emergency Physicians PLLC (MEP) has served the hospital for over 30 years. We are a mix of ABEM, Family Medicine, and Med/Peds physicians (all with decades of experience) with several of our docs growing up in our community so our sense of duty for the area is high and are very invested in the success of our hospital.

• Critical Access Hospital (25 inpatient beds, 10 bed ER)
• EPIC EMR
• 24 hours of physician coverage and 10 hours of PA coverage daily
• Census: 11k (highly variable, some days you see 20+, some days it’s single digits). ED usually cleared out by midnight.
• Transfers: ~3%
• Local Specialists: ENT, Gen Surg, Ortho, Onc, Urology, Peds, Optho (All are great and responsive)
• Rad: In-house radiologists during business hours, easily available after hours (Incredible Group of rads), CT/Xray/US 24hr coverage. MRI during the day. Echo during the day.
• Anesthesia in house and on-call to assist with airways, pediatric/adult trauma, lines, sedations etc.
• Great relationship with hospitalists and PCPs in the community.
• Quick referrals for STEMI/Stroke/Trauma either 30mi. south or 90mi. north (LifeFlight ~30min transfers)
• Level IV Trauma
• Local hospital owned UC across town
• Opportunities to teach with medical students (University of Washington medical school branch campus in town)…occasional first and second year students rotate through ED.
• Several of our partners have been here for 15+ years. (6 month partnership track, no buy-in)
