We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our Finance team at our Canberra Head Office. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the timely and accurate processing of payroll for employees and contractors, while upholding compliance with all legislative requirements and Aspen Medical’s commitment to ethical practices and B Corp principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with fortnightly payroll processing, including data entry, costing, leave applications, and payroll records.
  • Contribute to reconciliations for deductions, PAYG tax, superannuation, and payroll tax reporting.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, reporting, and preparation of payment summaries.
  • Work closely with Culture and Performance team to ensure payroll actions align with contracts, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Help maintain payroll systems, reports, and uploads to the General Ledger (Oracle), while supporting process improvements.
  • Build positive relationships with employees, contractors, and stakeholders, and support audits to ensure compliance.
  • Payroll experience, with knowledge of HR and finance systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy with figures, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Desirable: experience in the health industry and/or using Access Micropay.

About You
