We are currently seeking a Payment Assurance Officer to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting subcontractor payment accuracy, compliance, and dispute resolution. About the Role:
As a Payment Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, investigation, and auditing of subcontractor payments. You will work closely with Operations, Finance, and Delivery Partners to ensure that payments are accurate, disputes are resolved efficiently, and all processes comply with internal policies and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities:
· Investigate, interpret, and calculate subcontractor payments in line with contracts, rate cards, and industrial agreements.
· Identify payment errors, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
· Manage and resolve queries and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
· Maintain accurate audit records and documentation in compliance with policy requirements.
· Provide clear guidance to stakeholders regarding payment standards and compliance.
· Support weekly and monthly reporting, including variance analysis and insights.
· Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and improve data accuracy.
· Ensure adherence to SLAs, Delegation of Authority (DOA) matrix, and compliance requirements.
· Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and project work.
What You Bring:
· Strong attention to detail, analytical and have a knack for solving complex problems, ensuring payments are accurate and compliant.
· Proven experience in Payment Assurance, Finance, Payroll, Administration, or Audit, with the ability to confidently manage payment assurance processes.
· Intermediate to advanced Excel skills to analyze data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
· Opportunity to apply your SQL skills to investigate data, troubleshoot issues, and drive accurate payment outcomes.
· Chance to leverage tools like Power BI and Salesforce to deliver insights, improve reporting, and support smarter decision-making.
· Ability to resolve complex payment discrepancies while maintaining clear and professional communication with stakeholders.
· Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
· Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· A proactive, curious, and solutions-focused mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
