In order to identify qualified candidates to IAEA Departments for multiple positions, the Division of Human Resources maintains a roster of interested applicants. Qualified candidates who are available for consultancies and/or temporary assignments are encouraged to register and create personal profiles. Registration within the Pipeline does not constitute any formal commitment on the part of the IAEA for taking a particular application into consideration. Pipeline registration is only valid for two years. Candidates need to re-register again two years after the initial date of registration to be considered an active pipeline applicant. Updates can only be provided to candidates who are being considered for opportunities.
Types of engagements
Given the complexity and diversity handled within the field of Publishing, Editing and other language related areas, job roles cannot be easily defined. For the pipeline ‘Scientific and Technical Editorial (Editing/Copy Editing/Proofreading/Coordination)’ the IAEA engages with candidates who possess expertise at various levels within one or more of the following disciplines:
Analytical Writing Skills
Copy Writing
Editing/Technical Editing
Project Management
Proofreading
Scientific and Technical Publishing
Technical Writing
Education, Experience and Language Skills
For the areas mentioned above, general requirements and assets are as follows:
Relevant professional experience at the regional, national and/or international level
Professional-grade positions require substantial academic preparations usually acquired through university level education. General service positions often requires post-secondary education and technical or administrative training.
Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work effectively among people of different national and cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of another official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) considered an asset.
