At AQA, we’re committed to advancing education and we’re committed to our people. As the largest provider of academic qualifications in the UK, we mark over 10 million exam papers each year and it’s our people who make this happen.

Join Our Student Advisory Group!

Have you recently taken your GCSEs? Are you studying for A-levels? Maybe you are taking a vocational qualification too

We’re inviting you to join AQA’s Student Advisory Group.  AQA is the biggest provider of qualifications in schools and colleges. We set and mark papers for around half of all GCSEs and A-levels for just over a million students each year. We’re keen to hear from young people to help us make better decisions.  Your input can make a real difference.

The role:

  • You’ll be part of a Group that report to leaders of the organisation and our Board of Trustees. We’ll ask for your thoughts on different topics, like exam paper design, how you feel about digital exams and the future of the curriculum.

  • You’ll attend three one-day meetings each year (between January and November). Before each meeting, you’ll read some materials and talk to your peers. You’ll come ready to discuss and share ideas.  We’ll cover your travel and accommodation costs

You might also be asked to join other events during the year.  This could include speaking on a panel, attending education festivals, or sharing your thoughts on government proposals.

What’s in it for you:

  • A chance to shape the future of the curriculum, qualifications and assessments for young people.

  • Opportunities to develop your communication, presentation and networking skills.

  • Experience that will look great on your CV or university application.

What we are looking for:

  • You care about education and want to make a difference.

  • You’re a good communicator and feel confident sharing your ideas with others.

  • You can work independently before and after meetings and can represent your classmates’ views.

Some experience as a student representative in other groups is useful but not essential. We want to hear from students who are eager to contribute.

We also really want to hear from students taking our vocational qualifications, or vocational qualifications with any other exam board, as long as they have sat at least one AQA qualification.
