Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time, Term-time – 9 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 16:00 to 19:30

About the Service
Swansea Short Breaks allows children to enjoy a safe, meaningful experience whilst providing access community-based activities on a 1:1 basis and small groups, both within the community and project base.
We engage in inclusive activities that cater to the diverse needs of the children and young people in our care.
About the role
As a Community Short Breaks Worker, you’ll play a vital part of our social care team by engaging the community providing respite care for children and their families in need of short breaks.
This role is an opportunity for someone who has experience in disability support, childcare or family support ensuring the well-being of children and young people during their sessions.
You’ll provide both personal care and therapeutic support, whilst collaborating with families and other professionals to tailor activities and support to the specific needs of each child or young person.

How you’ll create brighter futures
Providing temporary respite care for children and young people
Planning and organising engaging activities that promote independence and personal development.
Supporting with their needs whilst providing emotional support, personal care and maintaining a clean, safe and nurturing environment.
Monitoring and assessing the progress and behaviour of children and young people, providing feedback to families and relevant professionals
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in care and support
Let’s talk about you
Experience within disability support, childcare or family support
Experience of working in a therapeutic way
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, young people, families and other professionals
Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
Driving license with access to vehicle (desirable but not essential)
