Description

As a Pre-ETS Employability Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting students in their transition to employment. You will work closely with teaching staff, community partners, and employers to provide pre-employment services, employability soft skills training, and work-based learning experiences. Additionally, you will oversee student participation in the Making an IMPACT Food Truck program, coordinating hands-on training in food service and customer interactions. Your role will include maintaining relationships with employers, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, and supporting students in self-advocacy and job readiness.


The ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for working with individuals with disabilities, and the ability to create innovative employment solutions.


**Pay for this position is $18/hour.


Required Competencies:

  • I/DD Knowledge: Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Familiarity with vocational training and job placement services.

Things You Need To Learn On The Job:

  • Training: Certification in CPR, First Aid, and other organizational requirements.

Example Activities:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for students transitioning into employment.
  • Develop employment options and facilitate:
    • Job Exploration Counseling
    • Work-Based Learning Experiences
    • Workplace Readiness Training
    • Self-Advocacy Instruction
    • Counseling on Postsecondary Opportunities
  • Provide individualized assistance with transportation, life skills, and employment-related training.
  • Coordinate food truck operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and supervision.
  • Organize community outings to expose students to employment opportunities.
  • Assist students in enrolling in the Pre-ETS program.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and procedural standards in the food truck program.
  • Support social media marketing for the Making an IMPACT business.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to meet agency insurability requirements.
  • Physical Ability to bend, stoop, stand for long periods, and assist individuals in wheelchairs.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Compliance (e.g., masks, gloves) as required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience in the culinary field or a desire to learn about food service.
  • Preferred: Experience driving larger vehicles or willingness to be trained.
