DRIVER at Piedmont National

Job Summary

The basic purpose of this job position is to perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in truck loading 

and unloading of materials and in driving to provide regular deliveries, with minimum supervision. On occasion, this 

position may also provide accurate and efficient movement of materials in the warehouse.

Duties/Responsibilities: This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may

• Primarily, this position will obtain packaging equipment and materials from PNC and deliver to customers. 

• Plans truck routes to insure most economical use of time and equipment. 

• Performs routine inspection on assigned vehicles and refers defects or repairs to supervisor.

• Maintains clean truck, cab, and freight areas. 

• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. 

• Helps to pull orders, crate, pack, and load deliveries to customers and for returns to vendors.

• Helps to safely move equipment and materials within warehouse, as needed.

• Maintain & clean designated areas of warehouse assigned.

• Complete all required continuous learning training, including safety, compliance, and job specific. 

• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to operate both manual and automatic transmission trucks.

• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving and proven skills for safely operating various trucks. 

• Solid performance record of truck driving.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, supervisors, and the public. 

• Ability to work independently, to communicate effectively, to follow specific written and oral instructions, quick 

learner, flexible, detail oriented.

• Ability to make independent judgments, which have moderate impacts on the organization. 

• Must be detailed oriented.

Education/Experience:

• Graduation from High school or GED equivalent.

• Must maintain a CDL A License with a clean MVR over the last 7 years.

• May also call for certification as a forklift driver.

• A minimum of three (3) years of applicable logistics and warehousing experience required, with some familiarity 

with similar packaging products preferred.

• Experience with using PC and applications, warehouse management systems, wireless forklift computer systems, 

and scanners helpful.
