General Statement of Job:
This position assists in the preparation of meals. This position maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards while performing essential functions.
Essential Functions:
Retrieves food items from stock areas, freezers, and refrigeration areas.
Performs food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, chopping, skinning, pureeing, tenderizing).
Prepares special orders and menu items according to prescribed diets.
Prepares food areas and steam tables for meal service.
Cooks and serves various foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as applicable to assigned shift.
Properly labels and stores left over foods.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas.
Observes personal sanitation procedures (e.g., washing hands, wearing hair nets).
Cleans pots, pans, and equipment utilized.
Assists co-workers as needed.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
