Illinois Casualty Company is growing, and we have an opportunity for a Network Support Specialist to join one of the leading providers of insurance protection for the food and beverage industry. The Network Support Specialist I is responsible for administering, configuring, and maintaining the Company’s systems and network infrastructure. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and serves on various network related projects and initiatives.


Essential Functions 

  • Maintaining, repairing, updating, and/or replacing all Company network hardware and software
  • Coordinating purchase of computer hardware and computer-related equipment including research of features, functions, quality, product support, price, and user training of all computer and computer-related equipment
  • Planning, designing, implementing and supporting new systems and system upgrades
  • Performing systems maintenance including installing new software, updating operating system software, managing user access, and monitoring disk utilization
  • Assuring availability of working computer hardware through installation, maintenance, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting computer hardware problems
  • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computers/network
  • Recommending and/or performing repairs or replacement to resolve failures
  • Performing routine audits of computers/network
  • Documenting network infrastructure, basic processes and procedures, and expense management
  • Maintaining Company voicemail and telephone system 
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience in hardware, and software support
  • Working knowledge of
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Networking (VPN, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Sub-netting, NATing)
  • Citrix
  • DNS/DHC
  • Corporate Anti-Virus
  • Backup/Restore Concepts
  • Hardware Troubleshooting (Desktops/Servers)
  • Intermediate level proficiency in word processing, spread sheeting, and presentation skills.  Ability to prepare business correspondence and reports
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information
  • Ability to respond to routine inquiries from associates and vendors
  • Ability to accurately perform complex mathematical functions as necessary to make projections, identify and analyze problems
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to perform after-hour maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks
