POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides direct care to clinic patients, educates residents through precepting and formal teaching, performs assigned advising and curricular duties, and performs other duties to assure accomplishment of the mission of Community Healthcare Network.
JOB FUNCTION:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides patient care in a Community Healthcare Center clinic and other care settings, with ambulatory care under the oversight of the program director.
- Precepts residents as scheduled in the clinic and according to ACGME residency requirements.
- Maintains adequate, concise, timely and legible documentation of attending patient care and resident attestation notes using the Electronic Health Record platform appropriately.
- Writes, reviews, revises and monitors assigned curricular areas as well curriculum at least annually with the program director.
- Acts as an advisor for assigned residents, meets with them at least quarterly in accordance with protocol, presents resident advisee(s) quarterly or prepares documentation for designee, and develops individualized learning plans.
- Prepares and presents didactic lectures, leads group discussions and/or plans continuing medical education.
- Serves on committees and attend meetings in the clinic and/or hospital as requested and/or as required by CHN’s Medical Affairs and other relevant policies.
- Fulfills Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (“ACGME”) requirements for core family medicine faculty.
- Participates in faculty development and meetings.
- Applies knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD billing codes for delivering effective and efficient patient care.
- Assists with the interviewing, selection, and ranking of prospective residency candidates.
- Participates and mentors residents in scholarly activity, quality improvement projects, poster presentations and publications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school
- Successful completion of an accredited residency
- Currently licensed and credentialed provider
- Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Current DEA and BCLS/ACLS/PALS Certifications
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (“ALSO”) certification if performing obstetrics care at a hospital
- Prior teaching experience is preferred
- Prior FQHC clinical experience and/or experience working with a medically underserved populations preferred
