Part of the CFO organisation, this team is responsible for financial governance, compliance and finance transaction processing activities for Global processes, across all geographies of Grab.
The Group Accounting Office (GAO) is a part of the CFO organisation. This team is responsible for financial governance, compliance and finance transaction processing activities for Global processes, across all geographies of Grab. This function is responsible for financial & regulatory compliance, financial reporting, accounting operations, operational excellence and finance transaction processing activities for Global processes, across all geographies of Grab. All GAO teams are expected to develop high-performing future leaders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, finance transformation and professional development.

Get to Know the Role
The Group Corporate Controller is a senior finance leader reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) / Head of Group Accounting Office. This role provides leadership and execution across the Group's financial reporting, technical accounting, compliance, and finance operations. The Controller plays a critical role in upholding financial integrity, driving process excellence, and enabling finance modernization across the enterprise.
Below are the main responsibilities for the role:
Lead and oversee the Group Controlling function, providing strategic leadership to Group Consolidation & Corporate Reporting, Group Technical Accounting, Finance Shared Service Center and Group SOX teams. Drive accuracy, quality and speed in these activities:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely Group financial statements in compliance with IFRS, SEC regulations, and other applicable standards.
- Manage and oversee group external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
- Manage and oversee group's SOX program and compliance
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and in compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Support M&A and due diligence processes to ensure proper accounting treatment on complex/judgement-based transactions
- Drive the Finance Shared Services Center (SSC) Performance; oversee service delivery, process optimization, and efficiency gains in transaction processing through standardization, automation, and ongoing transformation efforts.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvements and process efficiencies in reducing waste and enhance automation and AI applications, within all areas of responsibility
- Uphold Financial Integrity and Transparency
- Serve as a key leader in ensuring the quality, consistency, and transparency of the Group's financial reporting, both internally and externally.
- Management reporting, IFRS forecasting below EBITDA, external reporting, and audit committee reporting
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
This is a leadership role, with critical success factors including:
- Strong talent development & retention strategy, demonstrating a pipeline of future leaders
- Demonstrates a strong service-oriented mindset towards larger Finance organization and overall Grab business
- Quick resource realignment, for future continuous improvement and adapting to business changes
- Support the Head of GAO with representation to the Audit Committee and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
- Strategic alignment & prioritisation with senior management, focusing on the CFO-1 organisation
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA or CA designation
- Deep knowledge and application of IFRS, SOX and other regulatory requirements for a high growth business (~USD 3bn annual revenues with year-on-year growth)
- Ensure the organisation conducts operations and fulfils its regulatory obligations according to professional accounting standards
- Accurate recording, reconciling and reporting financial transactions according to professional accounting standards and Grab's global processes
- Experience with financial systems and software such as ERP systems
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in finance controllership, technical accounting and compliance in a similar industry
- Demonstrated leadership acumen and superior communication abilities, emphasizing a commitment to continuous improvement and driving operational excellence
- Proven ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and navigate conflicts, resulting in successful influence and collaboration.
