- Office in New York City
About The Role:
Parker’s mission is simple but ambitious: to increase the number of financially independent people. We believe the best way to achieve this is by giving independent business owners the financial tools they need to scale profitably.
Our core product combines a virtual corporate card with dynamic spending limits and profitability-focused software tooling—empowering eCommerce merchants to grow faster while staying in control of their margins.
We’ve raised over $180M in equity and debt from world-class investors, including Valar Ventures, Y Combinator, SVB, and notable founders such as Solomon Hykes (Docker), Paul Buchheit (Gmail), Paul Graham (Y Combinator), and Robert Leshner (Compound). We’re a Series B fintech scaling rapidly, with strong product-market fit and accelerating demand.
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented, and strategic Controller to join our leadership team. You’ll play a critical role in building out the finance function at Parker, owning everything from day-to-day accounting operations to strategic financial reporting, compliance, and controls. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role at a fast-growing fintech company and help define how financial systems scale with the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for a multi-entity organization; ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP.
Strategic Accounting: Oversee and optimize accounting systems, policies, and procedures
Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing accounting team as we scale
Audit & Tax: Lead annual financial audits, liaise with external auditors, and coordinate all tax compliance and filings
Controls & Compliance: Implement strong internal controls, especially in line with regulatory requirements for financial institutions
Partnership: Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, and Leadership teams to support business goals
Reporting: Prepare board materials and investor updates; support FP&A with budget vs. actuals and ad hoc analysis
Capital Management: Support treasury, credit, and liquidity strategies in partnership with the CFO and Risk teams
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 2 years in a Controller or equivalent position
Experience at a high-growth fintech, payments, or lending business strongly preferred
Deep understanding of GAAP, financial systems, internal controls, and audit processes
Experience with financial institutions, banking-as-a-service, or card programs is a plus
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, startup environment
