Based in London and reporting to the Regional Finance Manager UK & Nordics, the role will play a key role in leading the Investment Accounting team responsible for the UK and Ireland portfolio.

Your responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, the role responsible for the work organisation and its operations within the defined region.
  • Manage and oversee the work of a team comprisingFinance Managers and different seniority of accountants.
  • Monitor professional development and jurisdiction staff productivity to ensure meeting of the operations needs and professional development.
  • Together with the Finance Managers, lead performance management activities, mentoring and offering career development opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a high performing culture with a high-level engagement
  • Responsible for all the relevant jurisdiction’s entities and assets bookkeeping from A to Z to ensure accuracy of the books.
  • Demonstrate full control over the financials, especially during the quarterly presentation meetings.
  • Increase level of controls and accuracy across bookkeeping, design reports that will enable proper accounts reconciliation and investigation.
  • Accompany and develop the daily work of the team, including process optimisation and new project development/implementation.
  • Cooperate with all internal and external parties and provide timely answer to queries raised or information requests.
  • Plan and organize the work with internal and external parties to ensure timely filing of audits, annual accounts and tax returns filing.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations or other parties (ex: banks) in terms of reporting obligations.
  • Properly set priorities and track progress. 
  • Provide proactively regular update on matters that can have a financial impact for the Company in the jurisdiction under responsibility. Flag those regularly, even if requiring actions from other teams (Asset Management, …).
  • Support in monitoring liquidity and cash management for all entities under the SFM ownership.
  • Maintain close and regular relationship with Country Directors. 
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes.
  • Ad hoc activities with participation to projects where Investment Accounting involvement is required.

 

Your profile:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum 10 years of Finance-Accounting experience
  • Strong and proven expertise in Lux GAAP and IFRS (UK GAAP would be an asset)
  • Ability to understand the big picture and maintain the overview while processing at a detailed level
  • Previous experience with direct real estate investments and consolidation is required
  • Experience in budgeting, financial reporting and other related financial processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication English skills
  • Strong people management experience with good coaching and mentoring skills
  • Solid leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Dynamic personality with a desire to lead, learn, mentor and drive processes but also with a can do and hands on attitude
  • Collaborative and hands-on approach
  • Flexible, resistant to stress with good organizational and prioritization skills
