As part of our commitment to a better WA, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Net Zero Adviser to guide RAC on its journey Towards Net Zero. Sitting in the Sustainability team, this is a strategic role, working across the Group to shape and execute RAC’s net zero roadmap, and drive transformation across assets, operations, and supply chains.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Group Sustainability, this role will revise and shape RAC’s Towards Net Zero target, develop a plan to achieve this ambition, and support the business to create and implement emission reduction initiatives. The Net Zero Adviser will work closely with the Sustainability team, key stakeholders across the Group, and major suppliers. The work of this role will form a critical part of RAC’s mandatory climate disclosures.

This role is offered on an initial 12month Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the revision of RAC’s Towards Net Zero target.
  • Develop a credible, actionable strategy for RAC to achieve net zero.
  • Design, manage, assess, and recommend enterprise-wide emissions reduction initiatives that span RAC’s business units, subsidiaries, and supply chains.
  • Track and report on emissions performance using RAC’s carbon accounting platform.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for RAC’s Towards Net Zero Working Group.
  • Facilitate collaboration and partnerships across RAC to embed net zero principles into governance, operations, planning, and procurement.
  • Contribute to RAC’s mandatory climate disclosures under AASB S2.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in modelling, costing, and implementing emissions reduction initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with consultants, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical information into actionable insights.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess emissions, identify opportunities for reduction, and develop effective strategies.
  • Ability to devise and implement resource efficiency strategies (electricity, gas, water, waste, etc.).
  • Expertise in resource metering and data collection systems (electricity, water, gas meters, etc.).
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems, EV chargers, and energy procurement strategies.
  • Experience in sustainability performance ratings for buildings.
