Where the team fits in
The Senior Data and Insights Analyst sits within the Finance and Business Services Group, headed up by the Chief Financial Officer. The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBs as we like to call them, is the engine room of REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk, Procurement, Pricing, Contracts, Customer Collections, Payments, Facilities Management and our Customer and Business Systems IT development teams.
This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the ‘behind the scenes’ of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction. The FaBs group plays an integral role within our Residential, Commercial, Developer, Media & Property Related Services and Consumer & Brand teams, as well as providing support to all other functional areas of the business around the globe.
This role sits within the Customer Analytics & Insights Team within this function.
What the role is all about
- Manipulate & analyse complex data from a variety of sources, using a variety of tools
& techniques
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and utilisation of sales, product & marketing performance metrics, reports & dashboards
- Drive strategic decision making and the delivery of Analytics & Reporting to meet business needs
- Analyse, evaluate and report on customer behaviour, market conditions and competitor performance to identify opportunities and influence development of business strategies.
- Build and manage strong stakeholder relationships across the business, including sales, marketing, product, data science, & other data areas
- Guide the extraction of business requirements and to ensure reports & dashboards are relevant, user-friendly and effective for business needs
- Take the lead on cyclical reporting, as well as driving continuous improvement of dashboarding
- Respond to and take initiative in leading responses to adhoc data analysis requests
- Analyse data, interpret trends/patterns and synthesize them into business insights to inform decision-making, telling a story through data and providing recommendations to the business
- Drive the improvement and development of data and processes
- Autonomous design and development of datasets to be utilised in reporting and analysis
- Coach, advise and build analytical capability within the FaBS line of business
Who we’re looking for
- 7+ years experience in data analysis and reporting
- Great technical capability & knowledge in Tableau and Excel
- Advanced SQL skills
- ETL experience
- Strong knowledge of database concepts
- A passion for data and how it can be used to solve real problems, as well as a pedantic attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex business needs and translate these into requirements and data specifications for technical solutions
- Ability to collaborate and build productive relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, including senior leaders
- Ability to simplify and articulate complex data and findings to stakeholders and other areas of REA.
- Experience managing the competing demands of multiple projects in a timely manner – #gsd
- Ability to work productively and autonomously in a fast paced environment
