The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

Your new responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of ceramic, glass, polymer, and composite materials used in LED applications. This position will be in the Exeter, NH location, which is the center of excellence for ceramic, glass, and composite components within ams-OSRAM. Those who join this operation will be involved with state-of-the-art materials and processes. The successful candidate will join a skilled and motivated production team focused on sustaining and improving product quality and process efficiencies by utilizing lean continuous improvement and six sigma methodologies. Through the use of cross-functional leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication skills, they will enhance the profitability of existing products while also supporting the introduction of new products and processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Sustain and improve the product quality from end-to-end of the value stream
  • Make necessary adjustments to tooling, equipment, and work instructions to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize product manufacturing costs
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to establish and sustain control plans
  • Ensure that the manufacturing process adheres to quality standards and customer requirements
  • Participate in the product and process development programs to ensure manufacturing standards are achieved before release to production


What we look for


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred) with 3+ years of relevant experience 
    • Master’s degree in a related field may be considered with fewer years of experience
  • Engineering experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Competence in Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Competence in 6-sigma methodologies, including DOE
  • Strong ability to utilize databases to investigate and optimize manufacturing processes and product quality
  • Good organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
