Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization laboratory. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within a Level II trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the catheterization lab for procedures, ensuring all equipment is functional and sterile.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures, including angiograms and stent placements.
- Monitor patients' vital signs throughout procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during invasive procedures.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assist in the interpretation of radiology images related to cardiac conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures performed, including patient data and equipment used.
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiology practices and technologies.
Requirements
Years of Experience: 2 year(s)
Certifications: AART Advanced Cert *, AART or RCIS, ACLS, ARRT R, BLS, CCI RCES*, CCI RCIS
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: Scrub, Circulate, Telemetry
***MUST HAVE IR Experience - 90% is IR***
Certs: ACLS, BCLS, ARRT or RCIS
Skills: Perform EKG lead placement
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to cardiology.
- Proficient in monitoring vital signs and understanding emergency medicine protocols.
- Familiarity with medical terminology specific to cardiology and radiology.
- Experience with diagnostic evaluation techniques within a cath lab setting.
- Ability to apply aseptic techniques effectively during procedures.
- Knowledge of working in a Level II trauma center is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patients.
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00)
